Grand Central Station (S$65/US$39.40) SOLD

On the night we went to Little Italy for dinner, we stopped by Grand Central station for drinks first, and what an experience that was! We had martinis (I can now honestly say that shaken or stirred makes not a drop of difference to me; my plebian tongue can't tell the difference) at Campbell Apartments -- which is a lovely, historic nook tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

It was quite the chi-chi, with a glamazon hostess offering to spritz our glasses with vermouth before pouring our martinis. Don't ask me what that was about :-)

What I can tell you more about is this necklace ... it's deliberately asymetrical. Jolts of red Sponge Coral contrast with the cool blue tones of stabilized Turquoise. Pewter drum spacers pick up the silvertone wirework on the Sponge Coral donut. Toggle clasp is silver-plated. Necklace measures about 23 inches.

* Metaphysical properties of Turquoise: This symbol of wholeness is believed to open all the chakras, allowing love, communication and completeness to flow through the body. Turquoise is also said to help detoxify the body and strengthen the immune system. Because it's associated with the throat chakra, Turquoise is said to help improve speech. Some believe that it helps develop intuition too.

* Metaphysical properties of Coral: Coral is said to be a stress-buster and is also believed to bring calm to the user. Some people believe that coral helps restore harmony too.
