Oh what a (Arabian) night!
Just got back from the Arabian Night Hafla @ the Raffles Town Club and had to post an update on the fun party! It was a night of brilliant performances ...
...by a superstar
Rania wowed the crowd with her skill, range and grace. She has mighty powerful abs and boundless energy.
The ladies from AlHambra Middle Eastern Dance School did their teachers proud. They danced with infectious enthusiasm and their costumes were pretty too.
There was lots of audience participation, which made things fun ... unless you were the one dragged into things (I was pulled into the fray once, but luckily managed to scoot back to my seat soon after ... hahahahha ... Simone Houdini, the escape artist).
The guy pictured here is Abdoul and he was SUPERB! I am in AWE. He shimmied, he undulated, he did incredible things with his body. There was another male performer, Raed from Egypt and when he danced a dance which reminded me of the whirling dervishes, it gave me goosebumps!
It was a night of meeting old friends ... Joanne (pictured far right in the three-person pic) was the darling who invited me to this party. THANKS, JOANNE!!!!
We sat at Table 22, the most gorgeous table of course ... hahahaha! I feel bad for my table mates because I hardy sat there. Instead, the camera and I hung around at the back of the room and then slowly got closer and closer to the stage ... heh!
It was a night of making new friends ... Pictured on the far right is Sandra. I love her smile! She complimented my outfit, we got to talking a bit and have now exchanged e-mail addresses and numbers!
In addition to Sandra and her pals, I also met Harmon Singh of Harmon's Private Investigation and Consultancy Services. He's a sporting chap! Mr Singh was an audience member pulled on stage for some fun and he gamely participated.
Most of all, it was a night to party. People danced on stage, in the aisles ... and some people had tons of fun taking more than 300 photos!
More photos and write-ups coming soon...
