Scheherazade - SOLD

In the 1,001 Nights (also known as the Arabian Nights), Scheherazade was the skilful storyteller who stopped the king from marrying and then killing each of his wives on their wedding night. On the day the king married her, she wove a tale so magical and entertaining, it kept the king enthralled. And then, before the end of the story -- which coincided with dawn and the time for her death -- she stopped.

The king, unable to bear that cliffhanger, agreed to spare Scheherazade's life for another night. So she lived another day, ended the tale, began another and then stopped again before dawn and before the story ended.

And so she continued, telling tale after tale after tale, always stopping just before dawn until 1,001 nights had passed.

By then, the king had truly fallen in love with her and decided that women weren't so bad after all. (Sub-theme: When women talk a lot, it saves lives ... hahahhaha!)

ANYWAYS, this pair of ear-rings is something I imagine Scheherazade herself would have loved to wear.

The camera doesn't catch it, but this piece sparkles nicely.

Long dangles of sparkling Swarovski crystals and Czech glass beads dance and gleam with every movement of the head. This fairytale concoction also features pewter bead spacers.

Ear hooks, chains and jump-rings are 14K gold-filled.
