Baladi - SOLD

"Baladi" means "My homeland" in Arabic and it is also the name of a new restaurant near Arab Street which serves Lebanese cuisine.

The sweetie and I checked it out last night. We were originally going to gorge on murtabak at Zam Zam but ended up at Baladi (709 North Bridge Road, opposite the Sultan Mosque) instead.

"Baladi" also describes a middle-eastern dance style (click here to read an article about Baladi by reknowned Egyptian dance music guru, Hossam Ramzy).

Since I enjoyed dinner and love Middle-Eastern Dance, I decided to name this exotic little creation "Baladi" as well. The Egyptian scrolls provide a swirling frame off which hangs bottle green Czech glass beads which are accented by red and gold cloisonne bead caps.

Long dangles of "antique" goldtone chain end in Swarovski crystal-tipped scrolls with the occasional green freshwater pearl adding a subtle shot of colour.

Ear posts are 14K gold-filled and may be changed to 14K gold-filled ear hooks instead. Drop is about 2 1/2 inches.
