Maria Luigia (S$$48/US$29.10)

My Aunty Lou (actually my grand-aunt) used to tell us the most amazing stories about her travels and life in the early 1900's.

For example, before Pulau Tekong became the army island, it was an idyllic island where some families had weekend homes and they used to go swimming in the rather clean sea! If she were still alive, Aunty Lou (short for Maria- Luigia) she'd be about 100 years old or thereabouts now.

Like her younger sister, Bianca (Aunty Kina), she too used to be very proper and would always have matching jewellery and bags and whatnots. So I decided to name this piece after her as the cameo is supposed to be vintage (older than 20 years old), according to the seller.

Luigia also features fancy rhodium chain, Swarovski "pearls", rhodium bead caps and Swarovski crystals. Toggle clasp is white gold plated.

Necklace currently measures about 20 inches long (not including cameo drop) and can be lengthened.
