And now we return to the creative tour of Ancient Egypt. This special necklace of turquoise (stone of wholeness) and dumortierite (stone of order, discipline and creativity) features a classic motif, the Eye of Horus (symbol of protection and power).

The pendant is gold-plated over lead-free pewter and it's one of the more elaborate Eye of Horus pendants I've seen -- check out the little falcon head at the bottom!

It is also the only pendant of its kind I have right now.

I used a thin ring of "antique" gold to join the pendant to the necklace as I felt it was a nod to the sun-disc so important in Ancient Egyptian symbolism.
