The Peacock Experiment - SOLD
After the first experiment with the cameo worked, I decided to repeat the "experiment" with another cameo I've had for a while but never knew what to do with.
And here is the result!
I plan to keep the necklace part simple -- perhaps a clean line of dumortierite beads or lapis lazuli.... or a combo which includes a scattering of pearls.
Also, I don't think I'll add any fringe to this piece as the cameo is pretty elaborate on its own.
Let's see how this piece evolves!
Hmmmm ... perhaps this would work as a brooch too.

Brooch would be nice. I can imagine it would look pretty spectacular on either white a mandarin collar or in the middle of a gathered, high-waisted blouse:)
wow this is real pretty as with the others! i cant imagine your bead collection, must be loads!! :P
What a gorgeous gorgeous GORGEOUS piece!
Hehe, yea I agree with chev that this in a brooch would look great.. BUT, I prefer pendant =))
I can't WAIT to see the finished piece. You go, gal!!
Gorgeous piece just like the person who made it. :) As a necklace or brooch, both would be fabulous IMO!
Chev ~ Mmmmmmm! I like your ideas!! Luckily I have two of these peacock cameos and will possibly make the other one a brooch. I just found out that if I wanted to make this one a brooch, I would have had to do some extra things before adding the final ring of beads.
whatsthatfluffinmyhead ~ LOVE your moniker!! And did my sweetie speak with you about my bead collection ... HAHAHHA! Let's just say that I have adopted shoe designer Beverly Feldman's motto "too much is not enough". :))) I can't help it!!!! The lovelies just BEG to come home with me :))
mamimoo ~ hehehhe! I can't wait to see what emerges too. Luckily you can't see the mess in front of me right now as the necklace piece tries to make up its mind about what it will look like.
Farah ~ Awwwwww, you're so sweet!! Luckily you can't see me now in my grotty t-shirt and general state of mad stressed-out-itis :)) Hahahah! Thanks for the compliment :))))
haha thanks!
i just started making my own jewellery, and i know "too much is not enough"!! only when i start creating that i realise "hmm i wish i had this / i wish i had that" :) and i've already spent hundreds$$ on beads!! eek!
very nice. brooch and pendant set would be so nice, definitely a collectable. heh
what'sthatfluffinmyhead? ~ Welcome to the addiction :)) My friend, the other Simone, now complains that I'm a bad influence because of my "see, like, buy" philosophy when it comes to beads. Hahahahha! But what can we dooooo :)) Happy creating!!
3a gurl ~ You've just given me an idea :)) See you tomorrow!!!!!!
Babes, it's gorgeous! I love it! Actually I think it should be versatile so you can wear it as a brooch or a pendant.
I would wear it as a centrepiece on a choker, pinned on a scooped neckline or just at the start of a side slit of a simple black sheath, a pendant on a black velvet ribbon or even just simply pinning a white scarf draped around the neck and the ends loose down one shoulder.
For such a beautiful piece, you should not limit your imgagination and creativity. Go for it! Er, my birthday's in October btw. LOL. Subtle huh?
