Parteee @ That Boutique Bazaar
Just got back from a party @ That Boutique Bazaar and am kicking myself for not bringing the digicam. But sweet Lisa took some pics.
Met lots of interesting people today and am humbled by the incredible talent of some of the craftspeople there. For example, there was this award-winning but absolutely sweet and unassuming local artist (pictured below) who hand-makes all the different parts of her jewellery.
Her creations are truly unique and hand-made as she literally makes and paints almost EVERYTHING -- beads, pendants, and shapes such as fish, flowers, fruit and leaves.
No buying stones, charms and other bits and bobs from stores for her! I think I'm going back tomorrow to get her fishie ear-rings. Very nice.
I misplaced her name card and will post a link to her site when I get a hold of it tomorrow.
Another person whose work was simply stunning is a woman who used to be in the legal profession but now paints Peranakan and Chinese-inspired motifs on porcelain. We had a lovely loooonnng chat about all sorts of things, including inspiration and living in the same area of Singapore!
Kindred spirit, Lisa, was there of course (click her name to get to her blog). She's very creative too. One of my favourites is a necklace of hers (it's called Seeing Green) that converts to a bracelet. She also let me try "Wired," which she says I inspired :) So sweet!
