Lapis Lovelies - SOLD

I think many of you know about my long-time obsession with lapis lazuli!

It's such a beautiful stone which was revered by many ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Greeks and Romans.

Today, it is also considered the stone of friendship and truth -- two things most of us treasure deeply, I am sure!

So to bring out the beauty of these lapis teardrops, shot through with flecks of dark burnished gold (sorry it does not show up too well in the pics), I thought to keep the design simple.

Actually, the design reminds me a little of museum pieces depicting fertility goddesses with their lush, curvy proportions!

All the metals bits, including the ear hooks, are 14K gold-filled.
