Maharani (S$35/US$21.20)

When the sweetie came home last night, I told him all about the wonderful afternoon I had with a special person, sifting through treasures in a secret box and pretending a quaint little place was actually our craft room at home.

Of course he was not interested in where all this fun was had. All he asked was: "so you bought some MORE stuff?" Hahahhaha! Men. My reply: "Not a lot." Hahhahaha! Women.

But I digress.

Still on a high from the treasure hunt, five pairs of ear-rings were created in quick succession last night, with a fraction of the loot from the expedition.

Here is the first, inspired by Belinda's beautiful Yasmin and Eni Oken's (enioken.com) wirework tutorials. They remind me of what an Indian princess may wear.

They feature lustrous dyed freshwater pearls in hues of rich emerald green and dusky pink.

Incidentally, pearls are a symbol of love and fidelity, and that's why they're popular for weddings. Pearls are also the birthstone for June.

All wirework, circles, and ear hooks are 14K gold filled.

I'm going to post the other ear-rings later tonight. But now, I need to complete my Italian homework -- class begins in an hour from now ...... yikes!!!!
