Yesterday, we celebrated my father-in-law's birthday and it was fun! It was a pot luck lunch -- those of us more culinarily (is there such a word?) gifted, cooked up delish fare and those of us gifted in buying (no hints as to who I am referring to *cough* *cough* *me* *cough*), bought dishes.

And while all of us crowded around the dining table, it struck me that some of the most precious moments in life need not be grand affairs like weddings or births or graduations or other big occasions.

Treasured moments come to us every day. It's in the laughter of family sitting down to a table brimming with food; it's the little hand that touches your belly in greeting to a cousin-to-be; it's in the family jokes and nicknames; it's the phone call from a close friend ...

Yeah, I'm turning into a sappy thing!!!!!

Anyway, yesterday's lunch-which-stretched-to-dinner was the inspiration for the name of this piece.

These ear-rings feature sweet lilac Amethyst briolettes with accents of fresh green peridot. The Amethyst brios are excellent gemstone quality and though the photo does not quite show it, the facets really help this piece sparkle.

Frames, ear-wires and all wirework are 14K gold-filled. Look out for the citrine version which I will be posting soon.

Lucky Seven ~ Precious Ruby (SOLD)

In honour of tomorrow being lucky seven day, here is a one-off special creation featuring seven precious stones -- six faceted Ruby rondells (total weight approx 1.5 carats) and one flat faceted Ruby briolette (weight approx 1.5 carats).

This piece is similar to "Count Your Blessings" and uses the same wrapping techniques I gleaned from some Eni Oken tutorials.

Pendant is 3cm long and the necklace portion (fine, gold-filled chain) measures 16 inches so that the circle sits just below the neck. The necklace portion will also have some ruby accents.

There will be absolutely no remakes of this piece at this price. And though I am thinking of making similar pieces with other precious and semi-precious gems, this exact configuration is not going to be repeated.

So who will be the lucky owner of this cutie? :)))

Topaz & Emeralds Work-in-progress - SOLD

Like "Oh Love!" Topaz & Emeralds is a lariat-style necklace.

Happily, she found a new home very quickly after she was mentioned in the "Oh Love!" post, even though she's not quite ready to leave the Bling workshop yet.

And she's not leaving because I'm not quite satisfied with the look and so am tweaking it till it's just right :))

For example, the dangles will be shorter, I may add more emeralds and I may even use a different size inner circle.

Speaking of circles, I just love that shape! It implies fulfillment, abundance and continuity. And it's the shape of my belly now ... hahahha!

This little sweetie features 4.5 carats worth of fabulously cut Lemon Topaz briolettes and little Emerald (REAL emeralds!!) rondells in shades of deep green and light apple green.

I'll be sure to post a pic when this piece is completed and ready to go to her new owner :))

Drrrama! - SOLD

Though it doesn't quite show up quite so nicely in photos, this piece is oh so dramatic.

It's definitely a special occasion pendant/necklace -- the kind you'd wear with your hair swept up, with your decolletage dusted with shimmer and this bold piece drawing attention to your face.

Little faceted citrine rondells (total of 1.5 carats) accent one curvy "arm" which ends in a brilliant citrine briolette (approx 4 carats).


At the end of the other curvy "arm" its twin (also approx 4 carats) sparkles.

The pendant is about 8.5cm long. You choose the length of the necklace, though I'd recommend that you keep it relatively short (eg. 16 inches or so).

All gold bits (including wirework, curvy frame, fine gold-filled necklace and clasp) are 14K gold-filled.

Fiori - Green Amethyst - SOLD

This is one of my favourites because of the fresh and lively green of the faceted flat amethyst brios, which are a nice size too (approx 11 carats).

The seller said the colour was natural, but I can't verify that. What I do know though is that Green Amethyst is quite popular with collectors :)

Accents are tiny faceted rondells of pink and yellow tourmalines. All gold bits are 14K gold-filled.

I love the deep royal purple of these faceted flat Amethyst brios (approx 9 carats) ... to me, they look so regal and rich.

But then again, I am especially fond of amethyst because it's my birthstone :) I also love that they're supposed to help open the heart chakra to allow good things to flow in.

In this version of Fiori, the amethyst brios get accents of tiny faceted rondells of lilac amethyst and a scattering of pink tourmalines (bringer of friendship & love).

In this version of Fiori, deep pinky-red faceted Rubies (birthstone for July) are the highlight.

The "Queen of Gemstones" wears a crown of tiny faceted pink and yellow Tourmaline rondells.

Rubies are said to impart wisdom, wealth and health to the wearer.



Pink tourmalines are said to bring love and friendship whilst yellow tourmalines is supposed to increase intelligence :)) I could do with a whole lot of yellow tourmaline!!

Fiori - SOLD

Like a fresh bouquet of pretty flowers ("Fiori" is Italian for "Flowers"), this pair of ear-rings could well attract attention and compliments for the wearer.

Beautifully faceted Lemon Topaz briolettes are the highlight of this piece. The dainty cuties dance and sparkle in the light.


Accents of multi-coloured faceted Tourmaline rondells help bring out the sunshine yellow of the Topaz.

All the gold parts are 14K gold-filled -- ear posts, curvy accent and wirework.

Interesting Yellow Topaz Info: Though it was a gemstone known to the ancient Greeks (who thought it made the user invisible) and ancient Egyptians (who believed it was a mystical gem associated with the Sun God Ra), Topaz was "officially" discovered in the Middle Ages during a quest to find the "supreme yellow stone".

Today, some believe that Topaz helps with Spiritual Rejuvenation. Yellow Topaz is the birthstone for November.

Oh Ruby! - SOLD

Rubies are also known as the "Queen of Gemstones" and for good reason too, as they are supposed to bring to the wearer health, wealth and wisdom.

These ear-rings feature two ruby briolettes (mined in Africa, I was told) and a couple of ruby rondells.

They are from an older batch of precious and semi-precious gems I've had for about a year now, though soon some new precious sparklies coulkd be making an appearance here & amongst Belinda's collection ;)

To bring out the pinky-red tones, I added some rhodolite garnet rondells as well.

The precious gem briolettes are a decent size, as you can probably tell from this pic.

It's sometimes hard to tell the size of stones from pics, so I decided to include some very unglam ruler shots (where possible) to give you an accurate idea of dimensions.

I'm offering this pair at a decent price to pass some savings on to you :))

These Amethyst brios were acquired some time ago, but they're only making an appearance now :) I tend to hang on to my stones for a while until they call out to me.

These semi-precious gems are a lovely soft lilac colour and have a beautiful sparkle thanks to the well-cut facets (which you can't really see in this bad pic, sorry!)

This pair of ear-rings makes a subtle, elegant and classy statement and are great for those who prefer delicate, dainty pieces.

Team Pink or Team Blue - Sapphire Ear-Rings [SOLD]

Today was a good day! In addition to "seeing" the Little One, there was also a spot of exploring the treasure chest again and sharing the spoils with fairy godmother. Yeah, it was one of those fantasy days :))

This pair of ear-rings was inspired by the previous post on the Little Rascal.

Since he/she is keeping us guessing about his/her gender, I thought to have both pink AND blue in this creation.

The highlight is a pair of little sapphire (yep, real precious gems!) brios in light pink and baby blue. I kept the design simple so that some savings could be passed on to you.

This is a dainty piece which measures a delicate 3cm long from top to bottom. The circles are 8mm across (please be aware that the pic makes this pair look bigger than it is).

Open Your Heart - SOLD

The highlight of this pair of ear-rings are the marquise-cut Green Amethyst gems from Africa.

They're a fresh, sparkling colour and though we are used to purple amethysts, apparently, they come in green too! The unusual hue is what makes them a favourite with collectors.

According to some, Green Amethyst is also supposed to help attract abundance :)

I decided to keep it all in the family with this piece by accenting the green with little rondells of purple amethyst.

I named these ear-rings "Open Your Heart," because that's what Amethyst is supposed to do -- open the heart chakra so more blessings will flow in. Even if you don't believe in such things, it's a nice thought, isn't it?

Ear posts, chains and other accents are 925 silver. This pair comes in its own little lovely jewellery box.

Verde - NOT AVAILABLE FOR NOW

The Italian lessons are coming along nicely and we've inched our way up to adjectives now. In fact, we now know one verb, a fair number of nouns and with adjectives, we can make simple sentences such as "the cat is fat" or "the door is large."

Oh, and we learnt days of the week and numbers too, so we can now say, "hello, how are you? Today is (insert date) and tomorrow is (insert date)". heheheheh!

Annnnyways, last Saturday, we learnt colours and so this pair of ear-rings is imaginatively (not) named "Verde" which is Italian for "green" :)

Verde is so named because the focal gems are faceted green amethyst.

The accents are lilac amethyst, rhodolite garnet and good-luck citrine.

The ear-rings measure about 2.5cm in length. All wirework and ear posts are 14K gold-filled.

The green amethyst pears are about 1.3cm long and about 0.8cm at their fattest point.

The pair comes in a red jewellery box. Small gold polish cloth included too.

Celebration - SOLD

This pair of ear-rings and a matching pendant went to a new BlingFriend just before Christmas.

New Beginnings - for my mother-in-law

Apart from the Garden Fairy, my mother-in-law is another person I know who has a green thumb -- plants just flourish under her care. Even almost-beyond-redemption specimens respond to her ministrations and I can't even recognise some of the "patients" we have given to her: they look 1,000 times better than when they were in our care :)

So here is a tribute to her magical touch with plants. This pair of ear-rings are her Christmas prezzie.

They're green amethyst faceted pears with a scattering of tiny faceted emerald rondelles and a dash of citrine for good luck.

Ear posts are 925 silver.

Moonlight Sonata - NOT AVAILABLE

I seldom work with moonstones, but was encouraged to try recently, and here is one of the first creations available for sale (the very first has a new owner thanks to a generous soul).

In this pair of sweet ear-rings, rainbow moonstone briolettes get accents of blue sapphire.

Ear studs, chain and wirework are 925 silver.

Moonstones are an almost magical gemstone and have been revered by many ancient cultures in Europe and Asia.

Moonstone, a birthstone for June, is also said to be especially protective for women and children and is supposed to balance the emotions.

Sapphire (September birthstone) is the most precious of the blue gemstones. It is considered the gemstone of creativity and intuition.

New Owner of Precious Rubies

Rubies are known as the "queen of gemstones" and are a symbol of love and devotion. Rubies are also said to be very good for healing!

Citrine, which also features in the set, is said to symbolise wealth, joy, happiness, wisdom and peace :)

Garden Fairy's Home Set - SOLD

This set is inspired by the Garden Fairy's beautiful garden. The Garden Fairy has such a green thumb, plants just magically bloom and flourish under her care.

Me, I can't even keep a money plant alive and so decided to conjure a "garden" of ametrine, jade and peridot instead :)

The colours of the ear-ring and necklace set are soft and sweet and remind me so much of a garden after a refreshing rain.

The necklace also has accents of peridot all around.

Chains, clasp, ear hooks and the necklace circle are 14K gold-filled. The set comes in a plush red jewellery box.
